Professor
Velimir Grujicic was born 05.05.1940, in village of Belica, municipality of Kosovska Mitrovica,
Serbia. He graduated from industrial school “Sumadija” in Belgrade, in 1958, at the tool
handicraft department. He also graduated from Pedagogical Academy in Rijeka, in 1964, as
practical work trainer. After that he studied at Pedagogical- technical Faculty in Cacak,
and graduated with average grade 9/10, in 1982.
He was working at Belgrade firms “David Pajic”, “Elip” and “Teleoptik” as tool handyman. He has been working at Mechanical School IMT, as practical work trainer, since 1968. He has been occupying himself with inventing since 1971, and up to now he has more than twenty registered patents.
His first patent – instrument for toggle overlapping – was filed at Patent Institute. It was made and installed into “fica” car seats by professor Grijicic himself. The other devices succeeded: brush bearer with tube squeezer, soap bearer, double-sided regulating plug with hurdle and reducers. He has also been working a few years on a smokeless smoking system and invented “Eko cigarette-holder” for quitting smoking.
Regulating socks for feet correction are the patent which awarded most prizes at national and international invention fairs.
At devices exhibition “Eureka” in Bristol, in 1996, professor Grujicic was awarded
special prize for innovative effort. This award was preceded by many world and national
recognition, for both “Eko- cigarette-holder” and “Ekovel- step correct socks”:
Golden and special medal at “Eureka” ‘93 and ’94, in Brussels;
Golden medal “Mihailo Pupin” in 1993 and “Nikola Tesla” medal in 1994, in Belgrade;
“Genius” medal, at device exhibition in Budapest, in 1996.
Professor Grujicic opened EKOVEL – feet correction centre in 1999, and centre for quitting smoking in 2004.
